Yogesh Oka

Yogesh built his payments career in North America, Australia, and Asia Pacific advising acquirers/PSPs, processors, and payments networks. He works closely with the investment community, leading our M&A Advisory services.  Yogesh also focuses on merchant services and payment processing, and has worked extensively with alternative lending & finance companies.   Earlier in his career, he was a Partner at Edgar, Dunn & Company, and prior to that was the Founder and COO of a medical device company.

Yogesh holds an MBA from Stanford University and a B.S. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University. He is conversational in Marathi.

Jan Smith

Jan has a seasoned career in Latin America and North America, and has also worked across two dozen countries in Asia, Africa, and Eastern Europe.  He specializes in financial inclusion, alternative payments, remittances, commercial/B2B payments and faster payments. Prior to founding KoreFusion, Jan founded and sold InfoAmericas Inc., to Kroll Associates Inc. He also served as  a Partner at Edgar, Dunn & Company and VP of Product Development at Banco del Progreso Dominicano. Jan serves on the Financial Services Advisory Board of the Inter-American Dialogue, is a mentor at Standford’s Latino Entrepreneur Program, and is on the board of two Latin American fintech start-ups.

Jan holds degrees from the Universidad de las Americas, in Mexico and the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo in Brazil. He is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.

Joe McCann

Joe is an experienced investment banker with prior senior positions at Cohen & Co/PrinceRidge, StormHarbour Securities, and Fusion Advisory Partners. He has participated in a broad range of public and private M&A transactions, fundraising efforts, and asset management products on the buy and sell sides. Most recently he was the Managing Director, Vice Chairman and Co-COO of Cohen & Co/PrinceRidge LLC, a New York investment bank. Earlier in his career he founded and led several leading executive search firms focused on the financial services sector – including, McCann Partners, KornFerry International, McCann Choi & Associates, and The Whitney Group.  Joe started his career with Bankers Trust Company and Marine Midland Bank/HSBC, and has since worked across the U.S., Europe, Middle East, Latin America and Asia.

Joe has an MBA from Dartmouth’s Amos Tuck School and brokerage qualifications Series 7, 24, 63 and 79.  He is conversational in Spanish.

Joey Mendoza

Joey helps lead our work in the ASEAN Region, where he is based. Joey was a Founder and the Chief Architect of the G-Cash mobile payments service at Globe Telecom in the Philippines, one of the most successful mobile money programs globally, with 2+ million registered accounts. He was also the Chief of Party for recent large-scale payments-focused USAID projects in Afghanistan, Indonesia and Philippines, focused on cash-to-card conversion strategies for emerging economies. He is experienced in working with a wide range of public, private and regulatory stakeholders to develop and drive adoption of innovative payments solutions.

Joey is based primarily in the Philippines and spends considerable time in Indonesia and Singapore. He is fluent in Tagalog and conversational in Bahasa Indonesia.

Horst Müller

Horst brings a unique career blend of retail, financial services and consulting. He was the VP of Business Development at Elavon Brazil and led his own payments consulting practice, Euroconsult, prior to KoreFusion. Previously he was Head of Acceptance for MasterCard GeoSouth and Board Member of MC Procesos in Peru.  He has a rich trajectory in payments, including being the founder and General Manager of Innovacard (currently IbiBank), Director of Operations at Finivest, and CRM Director for Unibanco. He is also on the advisory board of AllPago.

Horst holds multiple degrees and certifications from Fundação Getúlio Vargas, The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern, Harvard, FIA, and IBGC.  Horst is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.

Renaud Pelletier

Renaud is a Senior Executive Advisor at KoreFusion. Renaud has over 15 years of domestic and cross-border investment banking experience at Wasserstein Perella/Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, Bank of America, and PrinceRidge/JVB Financial, during which time he advised on over $15 billion in M&A and financing transactions. In recent years, Renaud has become increasingly involved in the start-up community, acting as a CFO to several FinTech start-ups.

Renaud graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s Huntsman Program in International Studies & Business, earning a BS in Economics from the Wharton School (concentrations in Finance and Marketing), and a BA in International Studies from the College of Arts and Sciences. A dual French / US citizen, Renaud is also fluent in Spanish.

Roman Koifman

Roman brings over thirty years of payments experience to KoreFusion. He was previously SVP of Global Innovation at MasterCard where he focused on innovation strategies, product development and consumer value proposition development. Roman’s global experience encompasses product development for e-wallets, and credit, debit, and prepaid solutions. He is equally versed in risk management, retail payment systems, and marketing & analytics. Earlier in his career he held senior management positions at JPMorgan Chase, Citi and American Express.

Roman is focused on clients in the U.S., CIS, and Eastern Europe. He is fluent in Russian.

Isaac Matzner

Isaac merges a background in economic development, emerging market equities, and strategy consulting. He specializes in Commercial and Faster Payments, Business Services, Financial Inclusion, and SME & P2P Lending. Isaac sits on the Board of the Community Loan Fund of the Capital Region in New York State and has served as a mentor for a number of start-ups and social entrepreneurs. Prior to joining KoreFusion, Isaac was in the Rio de Janeiro, Brazil office of Bain & Co. and at the New York City office of Auerbach Grayson.  Earlier in his career, he worked at Mondato and the World Bank, acquiring on the ground experience across Africa, Asia, and Europe.

Isaac has an MBA from INSEAD and a degree in International Development Studies from McGill University, with further studies at the University of Cape Town. He is fluent in Portuguese and conversational in Spanish.

John McNicholas

John is a Managing Director at CoveView Advisors, KoreFusion’s joint venture partner on select M&A transactions.  John is a career investment banker, having completed over 75 transactions including M&A, private equity, and debt and equity financings.  Prior senior positions include Managing Director at Blackstone, JP Morgan and PrinceRidge, where he was also Head of Investment Banking.  While at Blackstone, he managed affiliate relationships with Nikko Securities (Japan), Enskilda Securities (Nordic region) and InverMexico (Mexico). He also served as Vice Chairman of Collins & Aikman Corporation, a former Blackstone portfolio company.

John holds a B.A. from Williams College, an M.S. in Accounting from NYU Stern School of Business and an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia’s Darden Graduate School of Business.
